Poems by Hasani Harris

If both time travel and fight clubs were real, I imagine that Hasani would chop it up with every philosopher considered a genius...but all discourse would be preceded with a bare knuckle beat down. Regardless of who took the most punishment, I imagine Hasani would see them both bleeding, then smile and say "now we can speak." Hasani Harris, romantic pugilist that he is, states in one poem that nothing is sacred anymore. But I respectfully disagree. Whenever someone faces their deepest selves as honestly as he does in this book, with the vulnerability and kindness and humor and hard-won wisdom he employs, the case is compellingly made: there's still room here for something sacred. We just need to give enough of a damn to create it.
